When you select "Search the LVAR MLS" you are accessing the "Internet Data Exchange" (IDX) of the Lehigh Valley Association of REALTORS Multiple Listing Service. This is the most comprehensive display of real estate available for sale in the Lehigh Valley of Pennsylvania. This tutorial is designed to assist you in learning how the IDX works so that you can view the properties that best suit your needs.
Our first step is to discuss the many search criteria available when you open the IDX search page. You will be given lots of options to define your search. This IDX search screen allows you to search the entire database of IDX listings in the LVAR MLS. How you limit your search criteria will define your success in searching the database. What you need to remember when you are searching the database, is that you are searching a system with over 3,000 active property listings in the Lehigh Valley. In order to enhance the system performance, the system limits the results from each search to 50 properties. Think of the limit this way . . . how many of the 3,000+ properties available would really meet your needs? How many would you really consider purchasing for your next home? How many do you really need to view at any one time? Think how much faster it will be to let the computer refine your search . . . not your fingers.
